Hi, I’m Eric Helín,

Welcome to the internet version of a unique art and design studio!

My design studio specializes in the creation of studio or art furniture. Art furniture is sometimes referred to as functional art. Although each piece functions as furniture, each is also an objet d’art — a work of sculpture. This style has often been characterized as “art masquerading as furniture” or “furniture masquerading as art.” My designs are hybrids — they combine practical function with an artistic vision that frees them from exhibiting the mundane characteristics of a merely utilitarian piece of furniture. In the end fantasy is fused with an everyday object creating an illusion that hovers midway between dreamscape and its recognizable practical form. The resulting pieces of art or furniture are unique constructions that embrace various aspects of surrealism and become the focus of intense interest and conversation in any setting in which they appear.

All of my designs are highly contemporary and exclusive originals. Due to this, prices typically reflect those of fine art pieces rather than of common furniture. Some pieces are one of a kind, while others are signed and limited editions. Limited editions are capped at a maximum number of 25 pieces and retired. At that time, no more pieces of that design are issued. Fabrication turn-around is 6 to 8 weeks for an already existing design, depending on its complexity.
