Marathon The surface displays a triskelion within a hoop or circle. The triskelion, a classic device composed of three running legs, first appears in Greece around 500 b.c. Constructed in the form of an equilateral triangle, the first triangle is trisected to form 3 right angle triangles that now frame a smaller equilateral triangle. The 3 right angle triangles are then folded back on themselves crossing underneath the table which now appears to rest on 3 equilateral triangles when viewed from one perspective or 3 isosceles triangles, when viewed from another. The clean simplicity of the lines and the angles together, evoke a sudden complexity which evolves into a highly kinetic art form. These small, highly collectible pieces make a perfect addition to any contemporary room. Due to their low profile, dynamic appearance, and brilliant colors, these pieces attract immediate attention. They provide a unique focus in any room and will inspire conversation for years to come. The design is highly dynamic and changes character, depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
